Located just minutes from downtown Los Angeles, Electric Pony Studios is a premier 10,000-square-foot warehouse production facility housed in a historic 1919 building. For over a decade, our versatile space has served as the creative backdrop for high-end commercials, feature films, brand activations, and professional photography shoots. Featuring three distinct interior stages—Pony 1, Pony 2, and Little Pony—alongside our expansive outdoor Graffiti Lot, we provide seasoned producers, directors, and creators with a reliable, shoot-ready environment. Under dedicated new ownership as of this year, we are committed to honoring the studio's legacy while continuing to elevate the operational standard for the Los Angeles commercial production community.

John Smartz spent more than 20 years in sales, most of it helping big companies figure out who their customers were and how to reach them. He loved the data side of it, but the part that stuck with him was simpler: the deals that worked were always built on people actually liking and trusting each other. He's still learning new tools every year, but he'll tell you that the human part is the part that matters.
These days you'll usually find John at Electric Pony, putting the processes and systems in place to grow a real community. Over the last 10-plus years, a lot of creative people have passed through this old 1919 and 1924 warehouses, and he wants to bring them together. His dream is a place where passionate creatives, filmmakers, musicians, dancers and artist swap ideas, help each other out on shoots and leave with a connection. He spent years mentoring kids through Vista Del Mar, and he brings that same spirit here: if you're making something, he wants to help. And when he gets a free moment, he's continuing to study photography and grow in the craft himself.

Jordan Tritton has been a member of the Visual Arts Domain for 20+ years.
As a UC Santa Barbara Alumnus, he propelled his cinematic career when he came to California to see who he could build teams with to bring projects, from script to screen. He has always loved the way cinema has looked, and the art of sophisticated editing. When he picked up his first DSLR in 2014, he noticed the camera could take photos as well, and the rest is history.
Today, you’ll find Jordan still living the dream of attempting to impress people with the beauty of his work through his Canon and Black Magic Cinema Cameras. One of his favourite categories of projects to work on is Music Videos, an art form that has been part of filmography for 11 years. If you’re working on a creative project treatment that makes him laugh, smile or get chills, he’ll want in. Especially if there’s coffee and protein.
